Eurovision Song Contest 1968

The Eurovision Song Contest 1968 was the 13th Eurovision, it was held in the United Kingdom on April 6th and the presenter was Katie Boyie[?]. Massiel[?] was the winner of this Eurovision with the song, La La La[?].

Initially, Spanish TVE[?] had selected Joan Manuel Serrat[?] to sing La la la[?], but Serrat insisted in singing in Catalan language instead of Spanish. This was unacceptable for the Francoist State, and for most spanish people (even more, the original song "La, la, la" was written in Castilian or Spanish). He was substituted in the last moment by Massiel, who eventually won. Her victory and the ex aequo one in 1969 were a national pride for Spaniards.
