Cy Young Award

The Cy Young Award is given annually to the best pitchers in major league baseball. The first awards were given to the best pitcher in the major leagues; in 1967, the practice began of honoring one pitcher in each league.

The award is named after Cy Young, the Hall of Fame pitcher.
