Harbin, China

Harbin (哈爾濱 or 哈尔滨 in pinyin: Ha1 er3 bin1) (population 2.5 million) is a city in north-east China, the capital of the Heilongjiang province. It is located on the Songhua River.

Japanese troups occupied Harbin during World War II starting on February 4, 1942.
