Beldegg

Redirected from Beldeg

In Norse mythology, King Beldegg of North Saxony[?] was a son of Odin.

Beldegg, sometimes Beldeg, is the anscestor name stated for the Anglo-Saxon kings of England.
They are supposed to stem from the sons of Odin that according to Snorri Sturlusson's Edda were set to rule the Saxon territories of Germany when Odin in Ynglinga saga moved north, first to Fyn and Odense and then to Svitjod.

See also Gaut for the Edda listing of the anscestors of Odin.
