World Monuments Fund

The World Monuments Fund is a private, non-profit organisation for the conservation of monuments and sites of historic art or architecture.

Every year, it consults with governments and non-governmental organisations and publishes a list of 100 most endangered sites in the world.

The latest list included sites such as:

Historic Lower Manhattan, New York
the Great Wall of China
the Valley of the Kings, Thebes, Egypt
St. Pierre de Beauvais Cathedral[?], France
the Cinque Terre[?], Liguria, Italy
Selby Abbey and Brading Roman Villa[?], England
Nineveh Palace[?], Iraq
Petra, Jordan
