But if you don't know what to write or where to begin, following the below guidelines may be helpful. Mainly, we just want you to write articles!

Structure Most Japanese prefectures are named after their capital and to avoid disambiguation the article should start with the prefecture's name followed by the word prefecture. e.g. Hiroshima prefecture.

As a rule for using Kanji, Hiragana and/or Katakana ensure that users without Japanese reading skills will be able to pronounce these words if e.g. Tokyo prefecture (東京都; Tokyo-to).

Hierarchy Definition No classification of Japanese prefectures has been defined. If you have any suggestions feel free to add start the definition. As a reference here is a good [ManningBartlett/WikiProject|example]] on dividing a topic into a hierarchy.

• In a rare case that there are more then two names of villages, towns or districts, to avoid confusion name if not ambigous such town or such village as
