Wheel of fortune

In iconography, the wheel of fortune expresses the notion that good and bad luck, fortune and disaster, follow each other cyclically. The image achieved widespread distribution in medieval times, and appears in many tarot packs with depictions of the goddess Fortuna or Tyche .

A television game show entitled Wheel of Fortune named itself after this phrase without utilising the traditional imagery.
