Upper Silesia - {Polish} Gorny Slask (http://www.slask.pl) - region containing actulal Opole Voivodship and Silesian Voivodship (partyl also Lesser Poland Voivodship and Northern Moravia county of Czech Republic with its towns Ostrava[?], Cieszyn[?]/Cesky Tesin[?], Karvina[?], Frydek-Mistek[?]. Historicly the capital of Upper Silesia was Opole, nowadays the most important is Katowice, the capital of Silesian Voivodship, while also the meaning of "Upper Silesia" is being shortened to Silesian Voivodship. Major cities: Katowice, Chorzow, Opole, Raciborz[?], Rybnik, Bytom, Jastrzebie Zdroj, Mikolow[?], Gliwice, Zabrze, Myslowice[?], Bielsko-Biala, Kedzierzyn-Kozle[?], Lubliniec[?], Cieszyn[?], Oswiecim.
