The Talk of the Town

The Talk of the Town is a 1942 screwball comedy film in which a political activist, accused of arson and murder, takes refuge with a former girlfriend in the house of a professor of law. It stars Cary Grant, Jean Arthur, Ronald Colman, Edgar Buchanan[?] and Glenda Farrell[?].

The movie was adapted by Dale Van Every[?], Irwin Shaw[?] and Sidney Buchman[?] from the story by Sidney Harmon[?]. It was directed by George Stevens.

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Art Direction-Interior Decoration, Black-and-White, Best Cinematography, Black-and-White, Best Film Editing, Best Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture, Best Picture, Best Writing, Original Story and Best Writing, Screenplay.
