The Slim Shady LP

Upon joining Interscope Records[?], Eminem released the The Slim Shady LP, which would eventually be certified triple platinum[?]. "My Name Is" was the first single off the album.

The Slim Shady LP had a number of controversies surrounding its lyrical content. In "'97 Bonnie & Clyde", Eminem, along with his infant daughter, disposes of the bodies of his wife, her lover and his son. In "Brain Damage", Eminem describes being beaten by a bully in eighth grade, while "Guilty Conscience" ends with Eminem and Dr. Dre encouraging a man to murder his wife and her lover. In other songs, he makes repeated references to taking Percocet[?], hallucinogenic mushrooms, marijuana, LSD, Valium and other illegal drugs.

Released on February 23, 1999 (1999 in music) by Interscope Records.
