The Pied Piper (1942 movie)

The Pied Piper is a 1942 film in which an Englishman, on vacation in France, is caught up in the German invasion of that country, and finds himself helping a large group of children to safety. It stars Monty Woolley, Roddy McDowall, Anne Baxter, Otto Preminger, J. Carrol Naish[?], Lester Matthews[?], Jill Esmond[?], Ferike Boros[?] and Peggy Ann Garner[?].

The movie was adapted by Nunnally Johnson[?] from the novel by Nevil Shute. It was directed by Irving Pichel[?].

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Monty Woolley), Best Cinematography, Black-and-White and Best Picture.
