Sigur R�s

Sigur R�s is an Icelandic avant-garde rock and roll band, formed in Reykjavik in 1994, while the band's members were teenagers. Jon Thor Birgisson[?] (guitarist/vocalist), Georg Holm[?] (bass guitar) and Agust[?] (drums) won a record deal with Bad Taste[?], a local label, and released Von[?] (which translates as "Hope") in 1997, followed very quickly by a remix collection, Recycle Bin[?]. The band hired Kjartan Sveinsson[?] (keyboard) for �g�tis Byrjun (1999; "good start") to critical acclaim and some popular fanfare, mostly in the United Kingdom. By the end of 2000, Sigur R�s' popularity had grown and the band was playing with Radiohead and other big names. In 2002, the band released ( ).
