Seal was born Sealhenry Olusegun Olumide Samuel, in Paddington, England. His parents were Adebisi Samuel, a Nigerian immigrant, and Francis Samuel, a Brazilian immigrant. A bout with the childhood illness, lupus, left him with distinctive facial scarring. After school, he studied architecture and engineering.
His music was popular for a while in the 1990s. Featured vocalist on the Adamski[?] single, "Killer", which was a UK number one hit in 1990, he subsequently had solo hits such as "Crazy" and "Kiss from a Rose" (theme from the film, Batman Forever).
He released a demo recording in 1989 and his first single called "Killer" was released in 1990 by after signing a contract to Sire Records[?].
In 1995, he released a single called "Kiss From A Rose" from Batman Forever and "Fly Like An Eagle" (originally recorded by Steve Miller Band) released from Space Jam[?] in 1996.
He has released 3 eponymous (self-titled) albums in 1991, 1994 and 2003.
Seal's new eponymous 2003 album is due sometime in the summer and the first single released off the album called is "Get It Together".
