Sarah, Duchess of York

Redirected from Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York

Sarah, Duchess of York (born October 15, 1959) is the former wife of Prince Andrew, Duke of York. She was born as Sarah Margaret Ferguson, and due to her maiden name is often referred to as "Fergie".

Sarah is the daughter of Major Ronald Ivor Ferguson (1931 - 2003) and Susan Mary Wright (1937 - 1998). She married the Duke of York in 1986, and they had two daughters, named Beatrice and Eugenie, before divorcing in 1996.

Since her divorce, the Duchess of York has hosted her own talk show, although this did not meet with a great deal of success. She is also an author: her writings include an autobiography, some guides to dieting, and several books for children. Most notable in the latter category is her series of children's books about a helicopter named Budgie[?].

Selected works

  • Budgie: The Little Helicopter
  • Budgie: At Bendick's Point
  • Budgie Goes to Sea
  • Budgie and the Blizzard
