Richard Scarry

Richard Scarry (June 5, 1919 - 1994) is a children's author and illustrator[?] who published over 300 books with total sales of 300 million worldwide, more than any other author.

His characters are almost always animals portrayed in human activities. His most famous series of books was about Busytown[?].

In 1955, he designed the character Smokey the Bear[?] for Little Golden Books[?].

His titles include:

  • What Do peple Do All Day?
  • Tinker and Tanker
