Queen Mary

["Mary" is the English translation of the name "Marie" or "Maria" in other languages.]

Among the women known to history as Queen Mary are:

  • Mary of Gueldres (1433-1463), queen consort of Scotland, was the daughter of Arnold von Geldern, Duke of Gueldres (Burgundy, France), and the wife of James II of Scotland and the mother of James III of Scotland


A Cunard ocean liner, constructed in the 1930s was named the R. M. S. Queen Mary for Mary of Teck. Since its retirement, the liner has been permanently located in Long Beach, California.
