Provinces of Cuba

Cuba consists of 14 Provincias or "Provinces", plus one Municipio Especial or Special Municipality.

The provinces of Cuba are:

Cuba's Special Municipality is the Isla de la Juventud[?] (Island of Youth), before the Castro Revolution known as the Isla de Pinos or Isle of Pines.

Historically, before the Castro Revolution, Cuba was divided into the following provinces:

  • La Habana
  • Pinar del Rio
  • Matanzas
  • Las Villas
  • Camaguey
  • Oriente
