Porthos

Porthos is one of the title characters of the Alexandre Dumas novel The Three Musketeers. The other two are Athos and Aramis.

The fictional Porthos is very loosely based on the historical musketeer[?] Isaac de Portau[?].

In the fictional Star Trek universe, Porthos is Captain Jonathan Archer's pet beagle on the Starship Enterprise (probably named after the Dumas character). It especially likes cheese.

T'pol[?] is sensitive to the smell of Porthos, since Vulcans have enhanced sensory abilities.

Porthos was nearly killed when it contracted a deadly pathogen on the Kreetassan[?] homeworld.
