Plasmatics

The Plasmatics were an American punk band, formed by Rod Swenson[?], a porn director, and led by Wendy O. Williams[?]. The band was most well-known for outrageous live shows steeped in blood and sex, though record sales were always sluggish. Williams was arrested in Milwaukee for public indecency, causing widespread controversy. She went solo in 1982 (see 1982 in music), releasing two solo albums to little acclaim. The Plasmatics reunited in 1989 (see 1989 in music), but little came of it. Williams committed suicide on April 8, 1998.
