Paolo Fresu

Paolo Fresu is a trumpet and flugelhorn jazz player born in Berchidda[?], Sardinia, and an arranger and a music composer.

In 1994 he graduated in trumpet studies from the Conservatory of Cagliari (with Maestro[?] Enzo Morandini[?]) and attended the University of Musical and performing arts in Bologna (DAMS[?]).

Since 1985 he has been teaching at "Siena Jazz national Seminars[?]", since 1987 at the Jazz University courses in Terni.

Bands he played with:

  • "Paolo Fresu Quintet and Sextet",
  • "Paolo Fresu-Furio di Castri Duo",
  • "The Open Trio" (with Di Castri and James Taylor),
  • "P.A.F." (with Furio di Castri and Antonello Salis[?]),
  • "Fresu-Di Castri-Balke-Favre" and
  • "Paolo Fresu Euro4th".

He composes music for theatre, poem, dance and Radio/TV video and film.
