Redirected from Newark Airport
Newark Liberty started out as Newark International Airport, as the first New York City area Airport. On September 11, 2001, United Airlines Flight 93, which was on its way between Newark and San Francisco, crashed in Pennsylvania, due to a passenger uprising against terrorist hijackers who wanted to crash Flight 93 into the White House or the Capitol in Washington D.C.
Because of the display of heroism, Newark Airport was renamed Newark Liberty Airport.
Newark Liberty gets mostly connecting passengers, since most of the local order and demand goes to La Guardia Airport.
Newark Liberty International Airport has three Terminals.

The airport also has a connecting monorail system that passengers can use to travel to its parking lots and a train station on the Northeast Corridor Line (between Trenton, New Jersey and New York City, New York).
