In the era prior to the Academy Awards, Miss Lulu Bett received rave reviews from the movie magazines of its time, notably Photoplay[?], Variety and Harrison's Report[?]. In 2001 the United States Library of Congress deemed the film "culturally significant" and selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry.
