Just like in most other sports, boxing has had its share of famous rivalries. Boxing rivalries can cause great interest among boxing fans due to many reasons. Usually, reasons involved for a rivalry between two particular boxers to become interesting to fans include: contrasting styles, ethnic background, boxer personalities, and general uncertainity as to which boxer is better than the other.

Boxing commentators and historians usually define boxing rivalry as two or more fights between the same fighters.
