Larry Holmes

Larry Holmes (born November 3, 1949), former world Heavyweight champion who got to be 48-0, threatening to break Rocky Marciano's record of the most fights undefeated for a world champion (49-0).

Holmes fought on HBO several times, made several television commercials (Including one with Sugar Ray Leonard for Ford Trucks[?]), wrote a biography, appeared in many boxing video games, including some that bear his name, owns several businesses in the Easton Pennsylvania area, and is still boxing as a professional. His nickname is The Easton Assassin and he is regarded by many boxing fans as one of the top ten world Heavyweight champions in history.

Among his victims were the following world champions:

Also among his victims were Butterbean[?], Gerry Cooney, Scott Le Doux[?] and Earnie Shavers.

Holmes currently has a record of 67 wins and 6 losses with 43 knockout wins. He defended his title 19 times from 1978 to 1985 before losing it to Michael Spinks (Leon's brother).

His other losses are, once again to Michael Spinks, to Mike Tyson, to Evander Holyfield, to Oliver McCall[?] and to Brian Nielsen, each of his losses but the one to Tyson coming on points.

He seems to love his fame and he is a good autographs signer.
