Lake Travis

Lake Travis is the largest of seven artificial lakes known as the Highland Lakes near Austin in the Central Texas area. The lake runs between Mansfield Dam[?], on the edge of Austin, and Starcke Dam[?], near Marble Falls, along the Colorado River.

  • Location: On the Colorado River northwest of Austin in Travis and Burnet counties
  • Size: 18,930 acres
  • Maximum Depth: 190 feet
