Lake Superior

Lake Superior is the largest of North America's Great Lakes. It is the largest freshwater lake in the world. (The Caspian Sea is larger, but contains salt water.) Lake Superior has a surface area of 82,000 km² (32,000 sq. mi.), larger than the Czech Republic. It borders Ontario in Canada, and Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan in the United States of America. It is an important shipment route for iron ore and is part of the Great Lakes Waterway.
