King George's War

King Georges's War is the name given to the military operations in North America that formed part of the War of the Austrian Succession. It was one of the French and Indian Wars. In the course of the war British colonial forces captured the French stronghold of Cape Breton Island, but this gain was returned to France under the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle.
