Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle

Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle, the end to King George's War, 1744-1748.

King George II of Great Britain was much involved in the struggle in Europe known as the War of the Austrian Succession. During this war, the English were fighting against the French in North America. The Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle ended the war and gave back to Britain and France the territory each side had lost in the war.
