Jonas Furrer

Jonas Furrer (March 3, 1805 - July 25, 1861), Swiss politician.

He was elected to the Federal Council of Switzerland on November 16, 1848 and died in office on July 25, 1861. He was affiliated to the Free Democratic Party of Switzerland[?]. During his office time he held the following departments:

He was president of Switzerland four times: from November 21, 1848 to December 31, 1849 and in 1852, 1855 and 1858. Additionally he was president of the diet from April 2, 1845 to December 31, 1845.
