ITT

Redirected from International Telephone and Telegraph

ITT or International Telephone and Telegraph is a large conglomerate that owns a variety of businesses.

It began as an operator of telephone monopolies outside the United States. It later became one of the dominant conglomerates of the 1960s and 1970s, owning a variety of companies, ranging from Sheraton[?] hotels, to Levitt[?] home builders. It is still a major defense contractor, though it has shed a number of businesses. It has engendered much controversy due to its influence in elections in the United States and abroad, particularly in the early 1970s.
