Dufferin Roblin

Dufferin Roblin (born 1917) is a Canadian businessman and politicain. He served as premier of Manitoba from 1958 to 1967. First elected to the Manitoba legislature in 1949, he became leader of the provincial Conservative Party in 1954. His government upgraded highways, created parks, and built the floodway around Winnipeg. After resigning in 1967 to run unsuccessfully for the leadership of the federal Conservatives, he was appointed to the Senate in 1978, and was government house leader in the Senate from 1984 to 1986.
