Carlitos Colon

Carlos Colon (born aprox. 1950) better known in the Puerto Rican wrestling circles as Carlitos Colon, is considered by many to be the greatest wrestler ever from Puerto Rico.

Colon became popular during the 1970s, a period when his promotional company, Capitol Sports Promotions[?], used to have a wrestling television show each saturday and sunday on WAPA-TV. He wrestled during a time where other stars like Los Super Medicos, Los Invaders, Chiki Starr, Barrabas, Randy Macho Man Savage[?], Hulk Hogan[?], Ric Flair[?] and others wrestled in Puerto Rico.

He was Heavyweight champion of the world there several times, and in 1983, after losing a fight to the late Bruiser Brody, he required hospitalization because he became gravely injured. News of his hospitalization made the covers of El Vocero and El Nuevo Dia newspaper. Two weeks later, he beat Brody in a rematch.

In 1991, Colon had a brief participation in the WWE, then WWF. After this, he decided to retire from professional wrestling, and now, he helps train his nephew, who has demonstrated interest in becoming a wrestler.

He sports over 70 scars on his forehead, and has said publicly that he wears them as awards given to him because of all his fights.
