Booking
One might be looking for double-entry book-keeping (accounting).
Booking is the process by which a criminal justice system creates an administrative record of those arrested. This usually involves taking photographs (mugshots[?]) of the suspect[?], recording physical datum, detailing charges against said suspect, and taking fingerprints.
