The Republic of Belarus is a landlocked nation of
Eastern Europe, capital
Minsk. "Belarus" is also spelled "Belorussia", "Byelorussia", and other ways, but the present government prefers "Belarus". Historically Belarus was sometimes referred to in
English as "White Russia".
