In 1974 a Turkish Airlines DC-10 that was destined to land at Ataturk International crashed shortly after taking off from Charles De Gaulle International Airport in Paris, France. There were no survivors.
Ataturk International Airport is a large international airport, although nowadays, it might seem on first impression that it isn't. The airport, which has the capability to receive airplanes of every size, has had its international terminal closed for remodelling, reason why all international airlines have temporarily stopped their flights there. The terminal will be re-opened sometime in 2003.
Ataturk International has one terminal.
