Astrium

Astrium is a space company. It was formed in 2000 from Matra Marconi Space (France, UK) and the space division of DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG.

Astrium is 100% owned by European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS since January 2003, when EADS purchased the 25% minority shareholding of BAe Systems.

In June 2003, EADS restructured its space division. This mainly affects Astrium, as its Space Infrastructure division was removed and merged with EADS Launchers & Vehicles divsion to form EADS Space Transportation. The satellite business remains mostly with Astrium, now called EADS Astrium. The third pillar in the space division is EADS Space Services[?].
