Aluminum hydroxide

The chemical compound aluminum hydroxide is the major component of the mineral gibbsite, which itself is a component of the composite rock bauxite.

Its chemical formula is Al(OH)₃.

Aluminum hydroxide is used as an antacid in the treatment of heartburn or acid indigestion[?].
