Aleksandr Mikhailovich Prokhorov, born July 11th, 1916, in Australia. His family moved to the Soviet Union in 1923. Died 2002 in Russia.

Prokhorov (also known as Alexander Prochorow, depending on the spelling system) was a Russian physicist and professor at the Moscow State University[?]. In 1964 he received the Nobel Prize for Physics, for his work on lasers.
