Zu Chongzhi

Zu Chongzhi 祖沖之 (pinyin zhu3 chong1 zhi1) (425-500) was a Chinese mathematician and astronomer during the Song Dynasty (of the Southern Dynasties). His achievements included the Daming calendar[?] introduced in 465 and deriving two approximations of Pi, 3.14156 and 22/7.
