Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,799 people, 711 households, and 509 families residing in the city. The population density is 312.9/km² (810.7/mi²). There are 729 housing units at an average density of 126.8/km² (328.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 93.94% White, 1.78% African American, 0.44% Native American, 0.50% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.61% from other races, and 0.72% from two or more races. 6.23% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
