Zhores Ivanovich Alferov

Zhores Ivanovich Alferov (also Alfyorov) (Russian Жорес Иванович Алферов (Алфёров) ) (born March 15, 1930) is a Russian physicist with a Belarusian (Byelorussian) origin.

Alferov was born in Vitsebsk, USSR (now Belarus (Belorussia)). He is a Nobel laureate in physics for 2000 together with Herbert Kroemer[?] and Jack S Kilby[?].
