X3D

X3D is seen by some as the next-generation of the Virtual Reality Modelling Language. Beside some extensions (e.g. Human Animation[?], Nurbs, GeoVRML[?] etc.), an X3D file has the same content as a VRML97[?] file, but use a different syntax.

X3D uses an XML-like syntax instead of the OpenInventor[?]-like syntax of VRML97.
