Wolin

Wolin or Wollin is an island located in the Baltic Sea located just off the Polish coast. It is nearly connected to the island of Usedom. Water from the Odra river flows into the Szczecin Bay (in Polish Zalew Szczeciński; in German Stettiner Haff), through the strait into Pomeranian Bay[?] (in Polish Zatoka Pomorska; in German Pommersche Bucht), which is a part of the Baltic Sea.

  • Area: 265 sq. km.
  • Highest point: Mt. Grzywacz - 115 m above sea level

Most of the island consists of forests and sandy dunes. Located in the middle is the Wolin National Park.
