WNEW-FM

WNEW-FM is a New York City radio station operating at 102.7 MHz and owned and operated by Infinity Broadcasting[?].

WNEW-FM was famous for its progressive rock format in the 1960s and 1970s, and for many years used the slogan "where rock lives." It was the first station to give Bruce Springsteen significant airplay. In the 1990s the station tried an extreme talk radio format with "shock jocks" such as Opie and Anthony[?], but this failed and they have returned to music as of 2003.
