Whitehouse (band)

Whitehouse are an English noise band formed in 1980. The are known for their controversial lyrics and images (often misogynistic and extremely violent) and have been the subject of censorship in the past.

The founding member was William Bennett who was soon joined by Philip Best and Kevin Tomkins. Tomkins was later replaced by Peter Sotos. In the early 1990s, renowned American producer Steve Albini began working with the band.

Notable releases include: Quality Time (1995), Total Sex (1980) and Thank Your Lucky Stars (1990).
