Peter Sotos

In 1986 Sotos was arrested and charged with obscenity and possession of child pornography. He was at the time producing a self-published newsletter[?] or "fanzine" named Pure, which numbered among its topics appreciations of serial killers and child abuse. The child pornography charged stemmed from the discovery of a copy of a magazine, Incest #4, which turned up during a search of Sotos's apartment. Charges of obscenity were dropped, but Sotos was eventually found guilty of the possession charge, and was given a suspended sentence and a fine.

Sotos has continued to write, numbering among his works Tool, Parasite, Index, Tick, and Lazy. He has also written an afterword for Ian Brady[?]'s book The Gates of Janus[?].

He was until 2003 a seminal member of the industrial noise band Whitehouse.
