What's Love Got to Do with It? (movie)

What's Love Got to Do with It? is a 1993 autobiographical film which tells the life story of Tina Turner. It stars Angela Bassett[?] and Laurence Fishburne. The film paints a dark picture of her relationship with her mentor and husband, Ike Turner.

The movie was adapted by Kate Lanier[?] from the book I, Tina by Tina Turner and Kurt Loder[?]. It was directed by Brian Gibson[?].

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Laurence Fishburne) and Best Actress in a Leading Role (Angela Bassett).
