Warren Zevon

Warren Zevon (born January 24, 1947) is a rock and roll musician, born in Chicago, Illinois. He is noted for his deadpan/offbeat view of life. He has been diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer (which is expected to be terminal in 2003).

On October 30, 2002, Zevon was featured on the Late Show with David Letterman as the only guest for the entire hour. Zevon performed several songs and spoke in length about his illness. Zevon has been a frequent guest on Letterman's television shows since Late Night hit the air in 1982, and even occasionally fills in for bandleader Paul Shaffer.
