Wanna Get Away? is the title of a popular series of commercials by
Southwest Airlines that presents various comical situations in which a person would probably want to get away if such situations happened to them.
Southwest uses this series of commercials to advertise their special air fares, and the commercials have been shown a considerable amount of times on United States national television, and on local markets where Southwest flies.
Among the commercials on Southwest Airlines' Wanna Get Away? series:
- The one where a woman is checking her friend's medicine chest (presumably) looking for vaginal medicine, and she tells her friend she is admiring her friend's new restroom. Then, as she grabs a tube of medicine, the whole chest breaks and all the medicines fall to the floor.
- The one where a woman is finishing a costume for her little daughter to use at a school play, and then her daughter arrives and tells the woman her play character has been changed to another one.
- The one where many neighbors drop their pets off at a man's house as they all go on vacation.
- One where a lady sits next to a guy at work, and the guy tells someone on a headphone that he lover her. Not knowing the man next to her was talking to another person, the lady at work then declares she always felt attracted to him too.
This series of commercials has been running since the 1990s.
