Waitiri

In Polynesian mythology, Waitiri is a goddess who married a human, Kai Tangata and had a son with him, Hema. She left Kai Tangata and returned to heaven as a cloud because he had offended her. Before she left, she taught Kai Tangata the arts of fishing.

Later, she gave her grandson, Tawhaki, a vine that eventually took him to heaven.
